I purchased an A-bike and have been using it for commuting the 4Km (2.4 miles) to work in York, UK.

The bike covers the distance without any problems, and is incredibly easy to store under my desk at work, and to carry up our narrow flights of stairs leading to our apartment. The bike is great for stopping at the shops or going to the library. There is no need to lock it up outside. Indeed, the bike is so small, that I often nip into a shop and take the bike in unfolded!

The bike is also capable of longer rides, despite this not being designed for this purpose. I recently rode the A-Bike on a 30Km (18 mile) round trip to the Elvington Air Show near York, where the photos where taken.

In order to avoid busy roads, I rode the bike along some unpaved farmers tracks. While it is not a mountain bike and I was going reasonably slowly, the bike handled this all in its stride.

It is comparably in size and weight to an aluminium push scooter, but much more capable in terms of speed and ability to cover distances that would take too long to walk.
